5. Organising the information: introduction

catalogue cardsThis section looks at how to organise information in the resource centre so users can easily find what they need. It details how to classify materials and how to create a specialised classification scheme.

This section assumes that a manual system is being used to catalogue materials. However, the same principles apply if a computer is used.

A key tip is KIS - Keep It Simple, organising information does not have to be complicated.
